Reading back over my post a few days ago about Rockmelt, I couldn’t help but wonder. The ripples of shared links and blog posts about it’s release have died down, people that have wanted to give it a try probably have (in terms of the more technical users). They clearly would’ve had a high spike of traffic over those first 2-3 days but then what?
How can a new project or start-up keep momentum? They’re in beta but anyone could give it a whirl by using Facebook Connect. Because of that, have they blown all of their publicity? They’ll no doubt retain a number of the beta users but I think they’ll find it hard to build on that base. Have they missed an opportunity by releasing and proclaiming it a beta?
